We slept somewhat longer than planned that morning because of the lack of sleep from the night before (an hour or so with loud music while waiting at the venue doesn’t really let your recuperate all that much either…) and eventually lunch was our breakfast, which we had at Udine station before leaving tamaryllis there to catch her train back home.
We hit the road again and made our way to Malcesine for a night of relax, a real shower and bed. Unfortunately, the weather was not all too nice so the beautiful drive was a little grayish but once at Lago di Garda it cleared up and after a beer and some chips on the balcony and a shower we headed out for pizza and cocktails afterwards.

Day 16 - Nei tuoi occhi l’universo è sempre più vicino – Udine
After the not so restful night, we packed our stuff and paid the camp site as soon as we could and headed off to find something else yet again. With help of the tourist office we found a bed somewhere that was affordable and once more we had to drive around quite a bit to find the street, even with help of the ever so helpful TomTom…
We checked in, left our bags and headed for a supermarket and the venue to start our long day of waiting. At around 11 we were at Villa Manin, the venue and soon after another girl we knew arrived and the day was spent eating chips, cold live fritte (not a good idea), brioche, drinking orange juice and milk (not together because that wouldn’t really go well), talking, sleeping and an attempt to play Uno… One banner was made but quickly thrown away again because we found it a tad too tacky (“Sali nel mio letto, saliiiiii!!”). Once it became clear we had to leave the field, an attempt was made to make a deal with the security which in the end didn’t work out (“è sempre la stessa storia!”) and only thanks to a Scandalo fan who hid in one of the portable bathrooms we had a spot in prima fila.
Once we had settled in our spots we had a bad beer from Fruili, some oranges and crackers while waiting for the gig to start. During the wait it already became clear what kind of audience was there (the so-called summer-sei nell’anima-suicidio d’amore-crowd) because when we tried to heat them up a little with the usual yells nobody really responded, with our second try about three people started clapping… They also looked a little weirdly as us because of our excitement, jumping, yelling, shirts, banner and Berbie but hey who cares?
During Suicidio d’Amore Gianna apparently definitely had understood what we were doing as she pointed as us singing “Si trovera la sera…”. Funny anecdote when we got out Berbie during America: she lost her lyrics and could only say “Bbbbbberbie!” laughing as usual.
As if it was planned it started raining at the end of the concert so at that point we were really glad we had found a bed for the night… Once back in our room we very happily decided to try out the free internet access we had but the joy didn’t last long when the electricity gave in due to the really bad thunderstorm that was going on outside. It was so bad even the windows opened by themselves.

Day 15 - Partiremo insieme nel silenzio del mattino – Emiglia-Romagna, Veneto, Friuli
Due to some accident one of the main roads was closed and we had to take another one, which first led us back a whole bit we had driven already and in the end we got stuck in traffic there because of course everybody had to take this road now. We did eventually get to Udine later than planned and picked up tamaryllis at the station. We then headed to the camp site which turned out to be a little further away from the venue than we thought so we called the tourist office to see if there was something else closer; there was another camp site and they also had a spot for us.
So off we went to find that camp site which turned out to be a bit of problem… We asked at some pizzeria somewhere and they pointed us in the right direction but still we couldn’t really find the place and we figured it had to be part of those cute colored little houses we saw so we drove towards them but no camp site in sight… We asked some guy walking around there and he told us where we had to go but also offered us the keys to one of the houses since he had them as he was working there. We friendly declined and tried to find our camp site again, which still didn’t turn out to be all too easy because their sign was partly ruined by the sun. Already we should’ve taken that as a bad sign… Once we finally found it, it turned out to be some weird desolated place with only a few people camping left. Lots of mosquitoes (and subsequently lots of bites, we probably smelled like three big lemons that evening from all the anti-mosquito stuff we used), bathrooms that were not all too clean, really high and wet grass (which should’ve given us an indication of the humidity around there actually…). There were three showers and all three had some old shower curtain that didn’t completely close. Wonderful place really…
Since the place was so inviting we figured we’d head off once we had put the tent up, showered and changed. We checked out the venue and then headed to Udine itself. The venue, which was basically the only thing in the whole town was beautiful and the center of Udine also… The whole surroundings and small towns we passed aren’t really that attractive, if we don’t have to we’ll probably won’t go back. Oh, one notable thing was the night club called “Vroom Vroom” but we didn't have to time to pay the club a visit.
Once we got back to the camp site we discovered that due to the enormous humidity our air mattress had gotten completely wet… Coosje and Chiara had planned on sleeping outside that evening but with the wet air mattress that eventually turned out a no-go (in retrospect a good thing because we might have died from mosquito bites…). We couldn’t stay in the tent in three persons because it really was kinda tiny and too small for three persons so we ended up in the car, all three of us… Very “comfy”! Several positions were tried out with Coosje turning around completely and putting her legs where her head should be, for example, but nothing really worked except staying in a position between lying down and staying upright. Of course we didn’t get all too much sleep that night…

Part 2 - Nei tuoi occhi l’universo è sempre più vicino – Faenza
The concert was wonderful that evening, there was a really great (erotic) energy coming from Gianna and she was very much in her element and obviously enjoying herself a lot. It really was one of the better concerts of the whole tour. America started out with her licking her arms and hand and it was the first time the cute underwear (purple with pink skulls, which she apparently likes a lot also as there’s evidence of two other occasions of her wearing it from last year even) was shown during this tour (after Faenze she made opening her pants a habit…) and Scandalo was initialized with her showing a boob but unfortunately we were on the wrong side of the stage ;P and at some point her sticking a couple of fingers in her mouth and pointing them at the audience… At some point during a pause she sang part of a Laura Pausini song and then grinned saying she tought she’d do that as Laura’s from Emiglia-Romagna. During Notti Magiche we couldn’t not do anything of course so Chiara got the anti-banner out and turned around during the song, getting weird looks from the audience and apparently her manager pointed at her… It might have been the beginning of a tiny victory…
This was also the first concert she probably realized we were there all the time because she started staring at us intensely from that concert on. It was almost scary really.
After the concert we had a beer with the Scandalo fans and then headed back home where we ended up talking for a couple of hours with some weird Italian cartoons in the background on the tv.

Day 14 - Part 1 - Partiremo insieme nel silenzio del mattino – Marche, Emiliglia-Romagna
Once arrived at our camp site we discovered it didn’t exist… Well it did but there were no campers and nobody was at the reception and besides the toilets which we decide to use before we left again nothing really seemed to be in use. So we headed in direction of Faenza (the camp site was somewhat outside of Faenza) and found the tourist office to find ourselves a bed for the night as quickly as possible. We called some places and eventually we found a really nice place which wasn’t yet open but we could get the room anyway. The woman was really nice and happy to have two Dutch girls as her first guests ever and she even brought the both of us a small flower the day after and when we got home at night she had left us some chocolate hearts.
After leaving our bags and changing into something else we headed for the piazza and even though we were a little later than our usual time we were still the first to be there. We found something to eat and drink and found a spot somewhere to sit. We watched the stage being built, played some Uno, talked, ate, drink and did nothing…the usual. At some point some people we know passed and scared us with a loud yell before we could even see them. Yeah, funny people…
At some point we apparently had to leave the piazza but we had been told to just stick around because if you showed your ticket they usually let you stay in. That didn’t work because apparently Gianna had to do a sound check. Great… We stayed inside because going out now was no option as there was a line out already and now way all those people would accept some people coming from inside and let them up front. Besides many others were still inside anyway.
Eventually we could stay inside with some people and wait in one of the galleries leading to the piazza. We watched the band during the sound check and once it was time headed into the gallery. In the end we were lucky because we heard the security from overhear that they were going to open the piazza in 5 minutes so we just walked pass the one guy that was standing with us (who was overwhelmed with all the women there already anyway, hehehe) and got to the piazza just in time to get our places.

Day 13 - Nei tuoi occhi l’universo è sempre più vicino – Civitanova
We headed to the stadium early, around 10 and of course on the way there we were afraid there would be other people already… Obviously there weren’t and the Fiesta was the only car on the big big parking lot. We tried to find out which was the right entrance and then placed ourselves in front of it on our cute green blanket with food, drinks, Uno and Berbie. After a while Lamento and Clau83 arrived and after him Stellaguerierra. We played some Uno together and enjoyed the nice view…
Yet again it would be a long and hot day taking turns to find a bar and a toilet using our catch phrase of the trip: “C’è un bagno?”
Later in the afternoon Sabà and Idaida arrived, Sabà with the most mitico bib ever which said: “Non pettini le bambole? www.giannanannini.forumfree.net”. We finally also got to meet one of the youngsters of the forum, the wonderful giannasgirl. Once inside we met some more forumpeople among them Lady Grace who would leave for Salentu soon.
Once we were inside and got out spots in prima fila there were some local celebrities next to us occupying the middle of the stage. Local security sucks big time because there’s always people they know and let him before everybody else. These were particularly annoying as they obviously didn’t even like Gianna.
This was the first concert we had Berbie with us and when we pulled her out during America, Gianna laughed her ass off when she saw her and gave us the V sign. Other funny things were the white hat she put on (somebody in the audience threw it to her) during California and all of the sudden we seemed back with Pia Come La Canto Io because she looked like Ghino again. Still with the hat on she bent down and as Coosje could see she was playing with some bugs that were crawling on the stage, a couple of minutes later she once again bent down and played with the bugs not missing one single note and pretending it was the most normal thing in the world what she was doing there… This is one of the many things why we love her ;)
Of course she lost her lyrics at some point (yet another thing why she’s so loveable because it makes her so human), this time Sei nell’anima which was kinda hilarious because it’s one of her biggest hits from the last two years. Really funny when she seemed to be looking in our direction with a look in her eyes as if she wanted to say “C’mon! Help me out here!”
During Notti Magiche we decided to start our shenanigans for the first time. We had had made the anti-banner: Notti Magiche with a cross and Avventuriera under it which was used for the first time that night. We also turned around and put our heads under the black striscione and crossed our arms. Some of these things would be continued till the end of the tour, where we there was a surprise from her part…which may or may not have had something to do with us.
After the concert we had a drink on the field with the forumisti and after having hurt Lamento’s ears with Notti Magiche blaring from our car we drove around town to find some food somewhere before heading back to the camp site. While driving around we did see some people we know but they didn’t see us.

Day 12 - Partiremo insieme nel silenzio del mattino – Puglia, Abruzzo, Marche
Packing the car early in the morning while it was still dark with mamma ‘helping’; we had no extra passengers but we had a couple of kilos of food provided by Mamma Italia, among the food her delicious homemade foccacia. Besides all the food this would also be the first trip Berbie would venture on…our special guest who was created during out stay in Lecce.
The day consisted for the most part of driving along the Adriatic Coast with some stops at Autogrill. Most stops were regular stops but Chiara had been craving milk for days so she went crazy when she saw a fresh milk vending machine. Of course this had to be tried out…but how we were supposed to know you have to get a bottle first from the other vending machine which was right next to the milk machine… So, we put some coins in, excited to get fresh milk out of a machine but then the milk started running and we panicked wondering what we had to do. We just let run and then realized that we should have gotten a bottle from the other machine we only saw then. When we finally had the milk we discovered it was really good.
After some traffic we finally arrived in Civitanova, the most ‘beautiful’ city of the east coast of Italy…huhuhuh. In contrast to the town, the camp site was really beautiful up on a hill it deserved its name Belvedere. Of course it being Berbie’s first time camping she demanded every inch of the big air mattress to be hers.
After having set up the tent and put the striscione we ventured into town and had a look at the not so impressive stadium of Civitanova where the concert would be. We walked around a bit and drove around and also went to Civitanova Alta which was a very big contrast to the other Civitanova and really beautiful. After a while we decided to head back to the camp site to change and then go to dinner. As we couldn’t drive the car onto the site after midnight we decided to walk as the guy of the camp site told us it would take about ten minutes. Of course you should never believe an Italian if they tell you that because it took us more than half an hour. Besides that the walk took us along dusty and deserted roads. When a car drove by we couldn’t see each other anymore due to all the dust… We finally did manage to find the center with TomTom in our hands and had a very posh aperitive before heading for pizza and beer with Berbie. At the pizzeria we met some people we know and we watched some stupid typical Italian TV show with lots of half-naked women.
After having a hilarious time with Berbie at the pizzeria we tried to call a taxi, unfortunately the numbers the guy from the camp site gave us were wrong but drunk as we were we did remember that there were taxi spaces at the station so we walked there. Of course Chiara slipped of the boardwalk on the way and when we arrived at the station we found there were no taxis but there was a number that did work.
